Planning your trip to Disney World
Disney World is a large attraction, and unless you plan your days you can very often end up missing out on some of the experiences it has to offer. Disney World offers attractions for all ages, both young and old so it is the ideal holiday destination for your family.
Booking your holiday to Disney is vey straightforward. You can usually book your tickets in advance before you travel. If you want you can stay in a hotel on the resort, or you have the option of staying nearby but offsite, perhaps in a privately owned luxury villa near Disney. These can provide considerable costs saving yet you can still be within 10 – 15 minutes from Disney World.
Most travellers fly in to either Orlando International Airport or Sanford Airport . If considering flying into Miami, you will need to plan for a 3 -4 hour drive to Orlando. Hire cars are available at all airports although many package holidays will include car hire. If choosing this option, be aware that the insurance provided with the package is limited and additional cover can be purchased either when you book your holiday or on arrival at the airport.
Orlando and Disney World cater for many different budgets so think about what your family like to do, what they like to eat and what shows and experiences that you would like to see before you visit. This can help you to plan and budget your stay in Orlando.
Have you considered how you would get to Disney World itself? Disney World covers a large area that includes the ‘parks’ such as Magic Kingdom and Epcot, the water parks such as Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, several golf courses , the resort hotels and also Downtown Disney, with a range of shopping and entertainment facilities mixed with a variety of eating establishments. Parking is plentiful everywhere and there is also a transport system between the various attractions.
When you finally get in to the resort grab yourself a map of each park and work out what attractions you want to see in what order. If you follow a logical route around the park (rather than hopping from one area to another, and then back again) then your day will be much more efficient and you will get greater value for money.
Disney World and the surrounding area offers many different cuisines and dining tastes so there is something for everyone. Try to work out your dining times into your day plan and make sure that you eat somewhere that everyone in your party is happy with!
Disney World offers not only great days out but a great experience. Make that experience even better by putting a little bit of planning into your day.
